TOMP.

In shaping tomp's brand story, the question was simple “How do you make a website that feels like it's built by a major architecture firm, but still stays grounded, human, and approachable?”

DESC

When tomp was conceived as a fictional architecture and spatial design studio, the goal was to explore what it would look like if a design practice had both global reach and uncompromising local sensitivity. We imagined a firm headquartered across Lisbon, Lagos, and Cape Town; a triangle of cities rich in history, architecture, and culture.

Tomp would be the kind of studio that sees architecture as an archive of identity. While most firms work with steel, concrete, and glass, tomp works with time. Buildings are designed to weather beautifully, absorb seasonal rhythms, and wear their patina as a badge of honor.

THE OUTCOME

The end result? A site that came out cleaner than a glass of ice water in July. Visitors are first greeted by a slick loading animation, not just for style points, but also to mask the load time for all those high-resolution images. Then, the hero section sets the tone: simple layout, clear CTA, concise navigation, and just enough breathing room to feel deliberate.

As you scroll, tomp's story unfolds: origins, philosophy, and an editorial-style showcase of concept case studies. The typography is a refined mix of serif and sans serif, modern yet timeless. The color palette stays restrained, with warm clay highlights to give it grounding and heritage. Animations are subtle but constant, parallax effects, smooth transitions, and scroll-triggered reveals, all working together to give the experience a tactile, crafted quality.
